Alameda Planning Board Moves Target Plan Forward
The 23-acre west end retail center development is part of the Alameda Landing development.
Alameda's Planning Board Monday night voted to approve the plan for a retail center at Alameda Landing. The shopping center will include a Target.
The board approved the plan with minor modifications and a requirement that the Target devote not more than 10 percent of its retail floor space to grocery or other nontaxble items for a period of five years.
The motion passed five to one, with board member Mike Henneberry voting against.

Board members also raised many detailed concerns about the design of the center, including issues with the roadways and pedestrian and bike access.
