AUSD Non-Teaching Staff Ratify Contract

The membership of the union representing maintenance, operations and food service voted to approve a labor agreement with the Alameda Unified School District that provides a 1.5 percent pay increase.

From an Alameda Unified School District press release:

June 1, 2012—The membership of the CSEA #860 Union, Maintenance, Operations and Food Service Unit (California School Employees Association # 860), has voted unanimously to ratify the recent tentative agreement with AUSD that resolves contract negotiations with the District.

In addition to cleaning up some problematic and confusing language in the former contract, the new contract provides a 1 percent one-time increase in unit member compensation at the end of this school year and an on-going 1-1/2 percent increase in compensation for the next school year. The 1-1/2 percent increase will be limited to 2012-2013 in the event that the district receives less state funding next year.
