Game Reports from Alameda Soccer Club

Game reports submitted by Ginger Conrad for the Alameda Soccer Club.

9/15/12  - Tillman Park (Alameda)
Destroyers v. Thunder
Final Score:  6 to 1 (Thunder wins)

The Destroyers' season kicked off with an opening loss to the Thunder, despite hard, physical defense the entire game. Griffin Calibac h(#11) strong defense , Spencer Kao’s (#10) aggressive play were not enough to stem the tide. Ethan Kha's (#1) quickness, resulted  well-placed shots, but it was in the second half when Ramit Guh a(#7) made a great breakaway that resulted in the Destroyers only goal. 2nd half goalie Liam Johnson Sandoval (#8) blocked quite a few well-hit shots.

9/15/12  - Oakland

Final Score:  6 to 3 (Lighthouse wins)

After missing the first game due to stolen(?!?) nets, Destroyers lost (6-3) a hard fought redo against Oakland Lighthouse. Even with Jabaar Baloch’s (#25) excellent blocking, goalie Harris Forrester (#5) had to save a flurry of attempts (including 2 great saves in the second half, despite a leg injury). The 3 goals for the Destroyers came from Spencer Kao (#10), Griffin Calibach (#11), and Cameron Hoy (#4) from a perfect assist by Leo Miranda (#2)

U12 Alameda Destroyers v. U12 West Oakland Seals

September 22, 2012 - Fremont High in Oakland

Getting closer with every game, the Destroyers lost a squeaker (3-4) with the West Oakland Seals.  Griffin Calibach made hay of a great assist from Ramit Guha for the team’s first score. Sam Boyke’s high speed wheels and Antonio Roblero’s aggressive focus helped keep pressure on the seals while Orion Ho played a near perfect game on both defense and offense.  Harris Forrester and Ethan Kha made the final two goals which kept the team within striking distance.  Ramit Guha as goalie teamed beautifully with Spenser Kao to keep the game within reach, but ultimately fell just a goal short.
