PS Eatery Opening Soon on Park Street

Owner David Le said he expects to open the restaurant in the next three weeks.

A new restaurant specializing in "New American" cuisine is expected to open soon on Park Street.

PS Eatery, which stands for Park Street Eatery, is replacing the building where Malay Asian Express once occupied at 1363 Park St. It is slated to open in the next three weeks according to owner David Le.

Le said he wants to focus on specializing in several specific items like pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese.

The restaurant showcases restored and reused furniture and decor. For instance, some of the light fixtures are made from metal rings taken off a wine barrel.

The industrial style is balanced well with greenery such as air plants and moss.

Le, who formerly owned a garden store in Oakland, lets his green thumb shine through with the plant features. Walking into the restaurant, patrons will find their eyes drawn to the glass windows on the wood-lined walls containing what appears to be terrariums and scenes from nature.

Diners can also expect to enjoy a bar serving beer and wine on tap. Le said he chose to do so because it was more environmentally friendly.

"Twenty-six bottles of wine equal about one keg of wine," he said.
