Video: Alameda's Asian Pacific-Island Heritage Festival

A host of performers gathered at Alameda Towne Centre Sunday to celebrate Asian Pacific-Island Heritage Month.

Sunday's celebration of  in the courtyard at featured dozens of traditional and modern performing arts troupes.

Organizers billed the event as the first annual such celebration in Alameda.

"This festival, this cultural exchange is for everybody," said Dr. Stewart Chen, who serves on Alameda's Hospital Board. "We can share with you the different kinds of food, the dances, the customs the culture, and even our different ethnicities."
