Video: An Interview with Chief of Police Mike Noonan

Patch sat down with the new chief to ask him some questions about himself and about law enforcement.

Mike Noonan was  in June of this year. Prior to that, he had served as interim chief since July 2010.

Chief Noonan first joined the  in 1986. He was promoted to sergeant in 1998, to lieutenant in 2002, and captain in 2008. 

Noonan helped launch the department's school resource officer program in partnership with the . He says he looks forward to continuing to build strong ties with the community.

"I’m a huge fan of community policing and I believe in working closely with the businesses and the residents," he told Alameda Patch. "We can't do our job without those partnerships."
