Watch: Alameda Mom Talks About Patch Parenting Blog Going Viral

Kate Bassford Baker spoke with Patch on how her blog has impacted her life since being posted back in September 2012.

A parenting blog by an Alameda stay-at-home mother has gone viral on the internet just a few months after being originally posted on Alameda Patch.

Kate Bassford Baker spoke with Patch on how an incident at the park sparked her to send a plea to parents to "Please Don't Help My Kids." Not long after, it's gained tremendous attention — something she never imagined it would do.

It has even caught the eye of several authors as well.

"Back in September, it got retweeted by Lenore Skenazy, author of 'Free Range Kids,' who is my personal inspiration and sort of the godmother of the anti-helicopter parenting movement," Baker said. "That absolutely blew my mind!"

Most recently, the blog is being published in a book by Beverly Nelson, the 2012 California Mother of the Year.
