Technology in Schools: The huge difference it can make
Just wanted to give a shout out to two sophomore teams in Alameda who won a classroom contest based on the KQED Do Now web blog series: http://blogs.kqed.org/education/2013/11/01/how-should-we-address-poverty/
KQED Do Now's post weekly questions and young people all over the country respond in the comments section or through Twitter. Student teams created and presented anti-poverty presentations based on the Do Now question "How should the U.S. treat people who are living in poverty? What would an anti-poverty agenda look like? Devise one piece of anti-poverty legislation that could make a difference." Students used an extensive rubric to assess the presentations and one from each class was chosen as the winner.
These two winning teams have been invited to the KQED studios to tour the studio and film their presentation.
We must be grateful that ACLC provides facilitators (teachers) with the opportunity, and technology, to develop innovative projects in their classes. Congratulations to the winners:
