So Sorry, Alameda West Siders

Ahhhh, West Alameda.  That scrappy, unpretentious, charming little nugget of old Alameda.  The dive bars that time forgot.  The tasty eateries.  The refreshing lack of fernside fanciness and gold coast megawealth.

Well, I'll stop reminiscing because the West Side's party is about to come to a screeching halt.  Why, you ask?  Here's a formula that might shed a little light on that question:

Target + Safeway + In-n-Out + Townhouses (Alameda Landing) + Houses (Crab Cove)  + Gas Station + Chase Bank = SERIOUS TRAFFIC and lack of local character.  And we haven't even begun talking about what will crop up on the base in 5-10 years.

I hope you guys are ready to sit in the tube for about 45 minutes each way, because coming and going from Alameda on the West side is about to SUCK.
