The mission of the non-profit Alameda Education Foundation, which was established in 1982, is to engage the community, raise funds and coordinate programs to support and enhance the quality of K-12 public education in Alameda.  Key AEF programs include Adopt A Classroom, which provides $500 grants to teachers; Enrichment, which serves approximately 4500 students per year with after school classes, non-student day camps and summer camps;  and Middle School Sports.  AEF is also a collaborating partner on Equipped 4 Success, a community-wide school supply drive.  AEF programs serve over 10,000 K-12 Alameda public school students.  More information on the Foundation may be found on its website.
