Alameda's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Nala

Each week, Alameda Patch highlights an adoptable animal that's waiting for a "forever home" at the FAAS Alameda Animal Shelter. Information is provided by Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS).

Hello, my name is Nala. I may be an all-black cat but I’ve got tons of character too! For instance, I’ve got a short tail, a narrow panther-like face and beautiful amber eyes. I love to be brushed and nap in the patches of sun. I’ve been waiting patiently for just the right folks to adopt me, could that be you? You can have me for free because I'm a Senior Cat (9 years young) and FAAS has free adoptions in September for all senior pets.

Update: Misty, the small, shy dog featured last week, has been adopted!

The  is located at 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda. Open hours are Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays. The phone number is 510-337-8565. The website is www.alamedaanimalshelter.org.
