Deter, the Pit Bull Mix Puppy That's Eager to Please

Each week, Alameda Patch will highlight an adoptable animal that's waiting for a "forever" home" at the FAAS Alameda Animal Shelter for a 'forever home." Information is provided by Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAA

I'm Deter and I'm a big goofy 10-month-old Pit Bull mix puppy. I love people, dogs, and basically everybody. I'm also a smart guy an eager-to-please kind of attitude, so I'd love to go to puppy training and learn new tricks!

Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter has over 80 animals waiting for new homes. During the weekend of Dec. 7 through 9, all cat and dog adoptions are FREE so there is no better time to find your new best friend.

All the pets have been vaccinated (except Rabies), micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Included in your adoption package is a free health exam certificate for a check-up at a local vet, coupons from various food and litter companies and 20 percent off at Pet Food Express.

We will be giving away free pet beds (donated by Bank of Alameda) with adoptions (while supplies last). If you live in Alameda, you will receive your pets forst one-year license for free. The unconditional love from your new pet, that’s free too!

The shelter is located at 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda and is open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Thursdays - Sundays from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Please visit the FAAS website at www.alamedaanimalshelter.org for more information or call 510-337-8565.
