Getaway Driver in Bonfare Market Robbery Arrested

On Tuesday, the driver in the July 18 fatal robbery of an Alameda store was arrested, according to police.

The San Jose Mercury News reports Elbert McBride, 41, also known as Andre Lamont Jackson, was served with an arrest warrant when he showed up for an appointment with his federal probation officer in Oakland.

Police say McBride drove the getaway car in last month's robbery, which took place at the Bonfare Market at 1505 High St. at about 10:30 p.m. The armed robbery suspect who was fatally shot by an off-duty Alameda County sheriff's deputy was identified as 42-year-old Laroy Brown of Oakland. A second suspect, later identified as Marc Traylor, 41, of Alameda, showed up at a local hospital shortly after the robbery, reports the News.
