How Can Your High Schooler Win the $500 Alameda Harvey Milk Day Scholarship?

Two $500 Alameda Harvey Milk Day Scholarships are available to high school seniors in the Alameda Unified School District.

To celebrate and support students who are working for social justice in the 
spirit of Harvey Milk the Alameda Harvey Milk Day committee is sponsoring 
a scholarship for high school students.

Two scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors from Alameda who have demonstrated an interest in social justice and are looking to make social justice part of their focus in college. The scholarships are for $500 each and will be awarded based on the application below and a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the efforts of the applicant.

Please answer the following questions, limiting your responses to a total of 
500 words. 
  1. What work have you done in the spirit of Harvey Milk, working for social justice at your school or in your community? 
  2. How will these experiences impact you in the future?
Application due on April 21, 2014. Be sure to include a name, address, high school, phone number and email with your submission.
