I was just 6 years old, living in Oakland, it was a hot indian summer evening, and my family, our neighbors, and my grandmother (born in 1900) all crowded around our little black and white tv, rabbit ears and all. Movies didn't have the special effects that we have today, and even though it was hard to wrap my 6 year old brain around someone in outer space, I knew that I was watching something special. Listening to my grandmother who had lived through so much of the history that I only read about, helped me to grow up knowing that we are truly blessed to live in America. Walking on the moon reminds me that one shouldn't listen when someone says, "can't do that." Thank you Neil, and everyone who helped to put you in space!

I was 8 and remember watching what was then the best images they could provide on television. We said we were going to do it and we did it! I always felt bad for him and Buz when I heard of Moon-landing hoax crazies harassing them. Thank you to all astronauts who go where no one has gone before!
