Special Ice Skating Nights Will Benefit Local PTAs

Skate at the 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. session on Jan. 8, 13 or 14 and your fun will help Alameda schools.

Proceeds from special ice skating sessions at The Little Ice Rink at South Shore Center will benefit the PTAs at several local schools, according to a press release from Jamestown, owner of the shopping center.

Jamestown and Perforce Foundation will donate proceeds from the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. public skating sessions on Wednesday, Jan. 8; Monday, Jan. 13; and Tuesday, Jan. 14, the release said.

One-time tickets for a skating session are $15 for ages 9 and up ($10 if you bring your own skates) and $10 for ages 8 and under ($6 with your own skates).

The sessions are open to the public.

Among the PTAs that will receive donations are those serving the following schools: Academy of Alameda, Alameda High, Amelia Earhart, ASTI, Bay Farm Island, Edison, Encinal, Franklin, Haight, Lincoln, Lum, Maya Lin, NEA, Otis, Paden, PTAC, Ruby Bridges and Wood, it said.
