VIDEO: Skaters Hit the Ice Despite Wet Weather

The Little Ice Rink will be open until January 21, 2013 at Alameda's South Shore Center.

Wet weather wasn't enough to stop skaters from hitting the new ice rink at Alameda's South Shore Center on Friday afternoon.

Beginners and experts of all ages enjoyed gliding on The Little Ice Rink in their bright orange skates. For those who needed some extra support, matching orange "Bobby the Seals" could be rented to help balance on the ice.

Future guest appearances by local dignitaries and skating celebrities are expected, including Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano.
