From an Alameda Chamber of Commere press release:
The Bob Claire Orchestra will headline on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 4:30 p.m. at the Oct. 6-7 Neptune Beach Community Celebration along Webster Street in Alameda. This lively 10-piece rock, R&B and jazz band won the Alameda Battle of the Bands at Concert at the Cove last month.
“The Bob Claire Orchestra beat out the competition, but it was a very close contest,” said Michael McDonough, chairman of the Ambassador Committee for the Alameda Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event in association with the West Alameda Business Association. “All three of our finalist bands got the crowd up and moving.”
The other finalists, Rene Escovedo and the Fuse and the Jim Parodi Band, will also perform late Sunday afternoon, joining a broad cross-section of local bands entertaining fairgoers with music from blues and rock to Latin, jazz, hip-hop, and funk on the Central Avenue stage throughout the two-day event.
