Concerts at the Cove Music Series Begins June 14

The concert series includes three free events on June 14, July 12, and August 9, 2013.

The popular Concerts at the Cove music series returns this summer to Alameda on three Friday evenings: June 14, July 12, and August 9.

The free outdoor programs will take place on the lawn adjacent to the Crab Cove Visitor Center, located at 1252 McKay Avenue in Alameda.

Each evening features free family-friendly musical entertainment, in a festive outdoor setting with beautiful views of San Francisco Bay.

On Friday, June 14, groove to the sounds of Fleetwood Mask, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. The Northern California based ensemble brings over 25 combined years of professional music and theatrical experience, to entertain audiences with beloved favorites as "Go Your Own Way", "Gypsy" and "Strong Enough".

They’ll be followed on July 12 by the Bob Claire Orchestra, providing a lively and entertaining blend of soul, R&B, Motown, blues, jazz and rock’n roll. The final date will feature a battle of the bands between Bear Lincoln, Rudolph, and Soulstice.

Come by at 4:30 p.m. for a nature program at the visitor center. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs. Great food provided by Calafia Taqueria and Café Jolie will be available for purchase along with premium wines from R & B Cellars.

Please no outside alcoholic beverages. The concert runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free to the public. Additional parking is available at the entrance to Crown Memorial State Beach, at the intersection of Eighth Street and Otis Drive.

Presenters and sponsors for the series include Rotary Club of Alameda, East Bay Regional Park District, and the Regional Parks Foundation. Additional support from the Alameda Journal, Alameda County Industries, Alameda Landing, Broadway Management Co, Kane & Associaties, Localize It!R & B Cellars, and Target.
