East Bay Open Studios

For two weekends this June, over 400 artists in Alameda and throughout the East Bay will open their ateliers, studios and workshops to the public during East Bay Open Studios presenting art as varied and diverse as our vibrant community.  It’s a rare opportunity to discover painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolor, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, photography, mixed media, glass, mosaic, printmaking, book-arts, furniture, installation, paper, metal arts, and more.

With so many artists and so little time, how does one choose where to visit?  A great way to plan your foray into East Bay art is with a visit to the Preview Exhibition, running through June 12 at the Pro Arts gallery. This “living catalog” of artists’ work is the largest and best cross-section of art made in the region, and a convenient way to discover new artists to explore further during an expedition to East Bay Open Studios.

Visit the Pro Arts gallery during the Preview Exhibition to plan your open studios tour and to pick up this year’s Directory of East Bay Arts.  You will also find the Directory at locations throughout the community, or you can browse an online gallery of participating artists at www.proartsgallery.org.
