Noted Bay Area choir, Soli Deo Gloria, will hold auditions January 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Alameda for its upcoming performance of A Tale of Two Requiems.
According to its website, Soli Deo Gloria is a San Francisco Bay Area auditioned choir dedicated to the performance of masterworks of the sacred repertoire in a concert setting.
The choir's membership is drawn from six Bay Area counties but it rehearses in Alameda. It has been singing top-quality sacred choral music since 1975.

The two selections to be performed will be a 2010 Requiem by British composor Bob Chilcott, paired with Heinrich Schütz's "Musikalische Exequien", a forerunner and model for the Brahms Requiem.
Auditions will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church meeting hall and a regular rehearsal will commence immediately afterwards. The choir rehearses Mondays from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m.

Its concerts will be held in Alameda and Palo Alto on March 10 and 11.
