Don't Like It? Flag It...

We've been at this for awhile now and a few of you out there still seem to think that Patch is responsible for both its stories AND comments. Listen up, people... here's the skinny:

Our comment threads are extremely active here at Lamorinda Patch. Many of you appear to still be confused by how they work.

First, the comments expressed under our stories are the sole responsibility of the poster and are not to be confused with our stories, which are clearly marked.

Second, the posters are your neighbors, like it or not, and are not employed by Lamorinda Patch.

Third, the opinions expressed in comment threads are just that -- the opinion of the poster.

Fourth, if you feel the comment exceeds the clearly and oft-repeated standards of "conduct" here at Lamorinda Patch, "Flag It" so we can find it more quickly among the hundreds of comments we get.

Remember, the comment must violate one of the : it cannot be profane, personally invasive, threatening or intimidating, or qualify as an attempt to "hijack" the comment thread and take it in another direction. DO NOT flag a comment just because you don't agree with the author's position.

Remember, the EDITOR here has a DELETE key and he isn't afraid to use it! And so do you. If you put up a post, think it over and would prefer that it not post to the site, YOU can delete YOUR OWN POST -- no one else's.

Sorry, I thought you were kidding. I am no expert, but this is what I see. When I AM LOGGED ON, I see a delete option in my comment box. If I place the cursor there it highlights, and I can select DELETE. Are you logged on?

Hi Dave, Yes, all logged in and hitting the "delete" button. They system gyrates for a second and says, "patching", but then nothing happens. You all are stuck with my inane commentary.

While you are logged in, go to account settings or profile for yourself and scroll to the bottom. You will find Contact us...Help where you can contact the Patch support staff. They can check to see if there is anything to fix on their end. If not, they may still be able to help yout out. Good luck.

Thank you, Moribund Dave. It would seem as though you still have a bit of life left in you after all. :-)
