Temple Israel of Alameda will hold a "Battle of the Bartenders" December 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. during Mojito Monday at
The bartender that receives the most tips during his or her shift wins. All tips will be donated to the synagogue to help support its work in the community.
Come have fun and support a local business that gives a lot to Alameda non-profits and Temple Israel, established in 1920, which is the island's only Jewish synagogue. The Temple helps Midway Shelter, the Alameda Food Bank, Special Olympics and many other local charities throughout the year.

Some well-known Alameda residents have agreed to take on bartending duties December 12 at Angela's during the following shifts:
- Ed Kofman: 5:30 - 6 p.m. shift
- Gretel Gates: 6 - 6:30 p.m.
- Cindy Berk: 6:30 - 7 p.m.
- Mel Waldorf: 7 - 7:30 p.m
