Food Truck Lineup for Saturday, Oct. 20

Off the Grid brings a caravan of food trucks to the South Shore Center for cream puffs, Filipino food, baos and more every Saturday afternoon.

Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the South Shore Center becomes food truck heaven. With free parking and a variety of hand-held, stand-up-while-you-eat meals, Off the Grid has taken off in Alameda.

Hapa SF

  • Dishing up familiar Filipino American dishes such as lumpia and adobo, this truck offers diners dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers’ markets.

Hiyaaa

  • Expect to find "kickin' flavors on a roll" from this food truck. These hot fusion sandwiches made with fresh ingredients pay homage to Bánh mì, the Vietnamese sandwich.

Mayo and Mustard

  • This truck serves up everything from pastrami and turkey to tri-tip, hot link and veggie sandwiches.

Twister Truck

  • A "Mexican grill with a twist," this truck serves up some of your favorite Mexican dishes in traditional styles or in tortilla "cones." Items include Sunrise Burritos and Tacos (served with a fried egg), San Diego Burritos (rolled with french fries), chipotle shrimp tacos, quesadillas, tortas and more.

Street Dogs

  • Have a hankering for a Chi-Town style hot dog? Look no further, as Street Dogs specializes in Vienna beef Chicago dogs which include onions, neon-green relish, tomatoes, a pickle spear and spicy sport peppers, all held together in a steamed poppy seed bun. Also served on the truck are soups and the Wunderbar — a thick slice of cheesecake, covered in rich chocolate and served on a stick

  • Serving up little pillowy puffs of heaven, Pacific Puffs specializes in cream puffs. Chairman Bao

  • Inspired by Asian street food, this popular Bay Area food truck features steamed and baked buns filled with savory stuffings of your choosing, including pork belly, duck, red sesame chicken and braised pork.

Curry Up Now

  • Craving curry in a hurry? This truck has got you covered. Curry Up Now, which also has a restaurant in San Mateo, serves up unique Indian street foods. Their menu includes Tikka Masala Burritos, Deconstructed Samosas (potato and pea samosas topped with mini-samosas, spicy chickpea curry, tomatoes, onions, sauces and your choice of ground beef, chicken or Indian cheese), Sexy Fries (sweet potato fries in masala with your choice of chicken or paneer), and more.

House of Siam on Wheels

  • A mobile version of the House of Siam restaurant in San Jose, the truck specializes in Thai cuisine and includes Thai tacos, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry Chicken over rice and more. Try their "roti boquet," grilled satay chicken rolled in a roti with peanut sauce, fresh green leafs, cucumbers, carrots, red onions and cilantro.
