Webster Street and Haight Avenue

What should go in the vacant spot at Webster and Haight?

On the West End, there’s a vacancy at 1521-B Webster St. and we would like to know what you would like to see here.

This spot is on Webster at the corner of Haight Avenue. The reason for the “B” in the address is that the space was originally one large space, but Little Ceasars only wanted about two-thirds of it. They partitioned it off and this space has a little over 1000 square feet.

I spoke with the broker to get some info. This space was previously Homeroom Racing Cafe (slot car racing), but they’ve moved to Park Street. Before Homeroom, it was a Mexican restaurant, but the broker couldn’t recall their name.

The owner of the building has done some major renovations to the building. I looked on Google Maps’ Street View to see what it looked like before and I think it’s a nice improvement. They’re now doing some major renovations on the interior which will require Bay Isle Wine & Spirits next door to close for a few months. There’s a possibility Bay Isle may not reopen and there could be an additional 2000 square feet available. If that were to happen, these two spaces could be combined into a 3000 square foot space.

The broker has received a lot of inquiries but so far hasn’t found a suitable tenant. He’s lived in the West End his whole life and he has a vested interest here. Not only does he want to find a tenant that can pay their rent on time, but also one that will add something to the community.

He’s very interested in hearing what the neighborhood would like to see here.
