The California State Automobile Association's website reports the average price in California for unleaded regular is $4.21 a gallon. That's down five cents a gallon from the week before.

In the East Bay, the average price now sits at $4.23 a gallon. That's four cents lower than a week ago.

Those prices are still more than they were a month ago. Nonetheless, the recent decline is being seen in most East Bay communities.

Motorists, however, don't seem to notice.

Josh Mort, a Livermore resident who works in Oakland, said the prices are still high. He added he drives the same distance to and from work, so he has to fill up regardless of the price.

"I tend not to pay attention," Mort said. "I have to drive the same. I'm not going to changing from my driving pattern."
