RIPON, Calif. The school, which serves students in Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties, now offers Career Technical Education (CTE) courses for the 2013-2014 school year and received top reviews from parents in a recent survey.

“Our online platform gives us an incredible opportunity to empower our students to pursue their passions,” said Don Ogden, principal at California Connections Academy. “Whether students want to learn about the performing arts through the Juilliard e-Learning program, how to speak a second language such as German or Chinese, or what it takes to pursue careers in fields like finance and nutrition, we can use technology to facilitate that and help them attain their academic and career goals.”

In addition to new CTE course offerings, California Connections Academy’s customized learning approach tailors instruction to each student’s skill level and needs. Students and teachers work together to develop a personalized learning plan and adjust it as needed throughout the course of the year. California-certified teachers deliver Connections Academy’s high-quality and innovative curriculum through LiveLesson®—an online synchronous classroom—and work with students one-on-one to answer questions and provide any additional instruction or support the student needs to succeed. The highly accountable online program engages a student’s parent or another adult as their Learning Coach, who works to monitor academic progress in the home.
