Connections Academy to Host Twitter Chat with California Connections Academy Parent on Wednesday, Aug. 7
California Connections Academy parent and experienced Learning Coach Irene Burgess will host a Twitter chat, titled “Switching Schools and Finding Your Groove,” on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 5 to 6 p.m. PDT to discuss how parents who are enrolling their children in virtual school—or considering the switch—can prepare for a strong start.
Irene discovered virtual school when she began looking for a different way to educate her three sons. They weren’t being challenged academically, and she wanted them to have fewer distractions from their schoolwork. With a high-quality curriculum and certified teachers, Connections Academy was a right fit for the Burgess family. Irene found the transition to online learning to be an easy one because she received plenty of teacher support. Now, with personalized learning plans and fewer interruptions, her sons have become excited about learning again. They’ve developed strong relationships with their teachers. The boys have also formed friendships with other students and have a great time with them during school field trips. For Irene, who now acts as her sons’ Learning Coach, the switch to virtual school has relieved stress and created opportunities for family fun and collaboration.
To chat with Irene and learn how she made a smooth and successful switch to online school, follow us @ConnectionsAcad. Then, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 6 p.m. PDT, sign in to Twitter and tweet your questions using the hashtag: #AskConnections.
