31-Cent Scoops at Baskin-Robbins Starts at 5 p.m. Today

The ice cream chain will host its fifth annual event nationwide in support of fallen firefighters and their families.

To support the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation, Baskin-Robbins  and across the country are “Scooping Up Thanks” during 31-Cent Scoop Night on Wednesday, April 27, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department plan to visit Baskin-Robbins stores throughout the county to chat with customers and pass out firehats and stickers.

31-Cent Scoop Night offers ice cream enthusiasts 2.5 ounces ice cream scoops for 31 cents. They can select their flavor but are encouraged to try April's flavor of the month: Firehouse No. 31.

The ice cream treat is a blend of hot and cold — vanilla ice cream with cinnamon and red-hot candy pieces.

The company will also make a $100,000 donation to the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation to say thanks to the firefighters and help support the families of those that have lost a loved one.
