Alameda Death Notices: Longtime Residents, Veterans, Safeway Workers And More

John Eelsing: A lifelong resident of Alameda, Eelsing died July 1. He was 75. He was a master carpenter with a strong faith. 

Raymond French: Born and raised in Alameda, Fremch died May 8 of complications from Parkinson's disease. He was 87. He played professional baseball and served in World War II before spending his career in management with Safeway.

Trevor Millosovich: Alameda resident Trevor Millosovich died July 6 of ALS. He was 79. Millosovich moved to Alameda in 1965 and spent his career in computer programming for companies like Safeway and Rawson Drugs.

Verla Newton: Longtime Alameda resident Verla Newton died July 2. She was 91. 

Linda (Bernal) Peterson: Peterson, a longtime Alameda resident, died July 3 of a long illness. She was 74.
