Alameda Girls Softball Game Reports through May 22

As the season winds to a close, we'll no longer see the girls in their uniforms around town before and after their games.

Little House Café Little Angels vs. Ross, Sinclair & Associates Lucky Charms: The Little Angels showed no rust after coming off of a bye week.  The Angels came out firing early on offense with Grand Slam Home Runs by Kree Nunnally and Avery Griggs.  Also contributing with hard hits were Isobel Seeley, Jocelyn Beck, and Nora Jensen.  On defense, Avery Griggs and Helen Doyle each played outstanding at the Catcher position and Caroline Phinney showed great hustle at First Base.  Another fantastic game for the Angels!!!

Coast Guard Chiefs Firecrackers, 10 vs. Dr Johnson & Jolley Cover Dragons, 4: Jazzy Palacio, Hailey Hayes & Abbie Green each had doubles in the 1st inning as the Firecrackers scored 4 times to take the lead early. The Firecrackers scored 4 more times in the second with solid hits from Alyssa Evans, Jaden Alexander, Isabelle Brown - Lyden & Gaby Twitchell setting the stage for the Firecracker victory. Tiana Bullock bolted a homerun and pitched a shutout inning while Madison Montgomery & Evie Dawdy kept the pitchers focused & protected the plate.  This is the Firecrackers 8th straight win of the season.

Advanced Health Chiropractic/ Scott Hennigh Attorneys at Law, 3 vs. Fruitti Yogi Blue Diamonds, 1: The Dragons showed some Royal defense on the field with Heather Hennigh stopping a hard hit grounder at third and throwing to first for an out.  Lucy Helms caught fly ball to end the first inning. Katie Ohno, Megan Tansy and Nataly Currid each got singles in the first to put the Dragons ahead. Alyson Thomas kept the cheers going with a pop-up single.

Harbor Bay Realty Blue Dynamite, 1 vs. Carroll Construction Lightning Bolts, 11: The Blue Dynamite fought hard, but were unable to keep the Lightning Bolts from striking. Lauren Gaughan had a great overall game delivering two defensive outs as well as the only RBI of the game. We saw solid pitching from the Dynamite pitching staff with Sydney Watt and Kenna Davis each delivering a strikeout of their own. Julia Ambrosini smacked a hard fly to left center for an easy walk on double. Sydney Watt and Katherine Legg went for 2-2 at the plate.

U10

Citizen Canine Black Magic, 6 vs. McDonalds Central Red Demon Dogs, 3: Fantastic pitching and defense for the Black Magic. 8 strike outs combined. An attempted 2nd base steal was thrown out by catcher Lauren Lum to short stop Mira Piamonte. Hazel Johnson and Amy Grimm added singles and a 2 Run RBI by Mira Piamonte with a double in the 4th. Isabella McCarter, Kiley Carter and Brooklyn Bilstein added swift base running for the steals.

Dr Johnson and Jolley Royal Dragons, 0 vs. McDonald’s Central Demon Dogs, 5: Pitcher Jemma Thorpe struck out 7 batters and singled twice to lead the Royal Dragons in this hard-fought battle.  Chantel Zavala-Sheridan came up with a big hit in the first inning, driving in two runners.  Katie Gee added a single in the second inning. 

Bay Area Children's Theatre Purple Lightning, 13 vs. Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nose Pitbulls, 9: Congratulations to Casey Stoddard, Christine Warren and Ianna Morris for making their pitching debuts against the Blue Nose Pitbulls.  Casey and Ianna both struck out a batter and Christine caught a ball that was hit back at her. Beatrice Levy and Briana St. Denis also combined for six strike outs.

U12/U14

Winzler & Kelly Kryptonite, 7 vs. Linda C. Avery, Ph.D Flamin Hot Cheetos 3: The Kryptonite put together a complete game of great base running, pitching, catching, hitting and bunting to get the win against the Cheetos.  Aubrey Guevera contributed to the Kryptonite cause with a clutch RBI in the fourth inning.

Linda C. Avery Flamin Hot Cheetos, 6 vs. Law Office of Paul Mahler/McDonalds Shoreline Hot Ice, 12: Hot Ice tucked another win under their belt with fantastic defensive playing and steaming bats when they played their local team.  Bella Sheel , Annie Lynch, Ruby Siltanen all participated in a tag out of a runner attempting to run to 3rd base.  Stellar pitching by Meida Tautalatasi and Valerie Sheridan kept the Cheetos to 6 runs.  Ariana Verduzco, Sally Parsons and Tatiana Kelly’s bats all contributed to the win for their last regular season game.
