Book about Alameda County Fair Published

Pictorial history of the 99-year-old Alameda County Fair.

A new pictorial history book by local author Victoria Christian called Alameda County Fair was released on May 23.

The book, published byArcadia Publishing, connects people with their past through vintage images–images of people who may even still live in the area. 

Once considered a racing fair—the orginal track were the fair is held was built in 1859. The Alameda County Fair now boasts livestock and agriculture as well as rides, music, food and family fun.

This year's Alameda County Fair will run June 22 - July 10. It is the fair's 99th year.
