Fruitvale Healthcare Center Establishes Fund to Help for Victims of Limo Fire

Fruitvale Healthcare Center announced a fund created to support the families of the victims and survivors of the May 4 limousine fire on the San Mateo Bridge.

Fruitvale Healthcare Center announced on Thursday that it has established a Fund to support the survivors, their families and the families of those killed as a result of May 4 limousine fire on the  San Mateo Bridge

"This accident claimed the lives of 5 current or former employees of Fruitvale Healthcare Center or members of our employees' families. We were fortunate that four of our current or former employees survived," the press release said.

The San Mateo Bridge Angels Fund Account was created with the help of Bank of America according to a Fruitvale Healthcare Center Spokesperson.

The victims were identified as Jennifer Balon, 39, of Dublin; Anna Alcantara, 46, of San Lorenzo; Michelle Estrera, 35, of Fresno; Neriza Fojas, 31, of Monterey; and .

The surviving women are Jasmine Desguia, 34, of San Jose; Mary Guardiano, 42, of Alameda; Nelia Arellano, 36, of Oakland; and Amalia Loyola, 48, of San Leandro.

Anyone wanting to donate to this fund can visit any Bank of America branch. They must indicate that you are contributing to "The San Mateo Bridge Angels Fund Account."

"We will disburse these funds based on the needs of these individuals and their families as determined solely by a committee appointed to assist with this process," the release said.

Other donation funds include on by Alameda Community Learning Center and one by Donald D. Lum Elementary School's PTA — schools where Geronga's children currently attend.
