Why Go: Estuary Art Attack may be taking a break, but that does not mean that art in Alameda has checked out. Alameda artist Malia Bush will showing her latest works done in acrylic paint on Friday night. Get a taste of her style on her website and ask her about her inspiration at the reception.

Why Go: Pretend you're in Montmarte District of Paris to the sounds of French musette accordion. That is, until Tara Linda and Jetty Swart switch it up with some Michael Jackson.

Why Go: In honor of Black History Month, The Academy is holding a screening of this 1991 documentary on African Americans and the civil war. The film will be followed by a discussion and a poetry reading.
