How Many Foreclosure Homes Are In Alameda?

And, what are those homes selling for?

The number of foreclosure homes in Alameda is down 69 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $98,000 less than non-foreclosure houses.

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 117 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Alameda with 9 of those houses for sale.

The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $452,000 in April. That was 14 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $540,000, up 11 percent from a year before.

In May, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in Alameda was 36 percent higher than April and down 69 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Alameda in April were up 41 percent from the previous month but up 1 percent from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
