Negotiations Between AUSD, Teachers at Impasse

Next step: a state-appointed mediator will try to bring the two sides to agreement.

The state's Public Employment Relations Board has declared an impasse in salary negotiations between the Alameda Unified School District and the Alameda Education Association, which represents the district's teachers, according to an article Monday on The Alamedan website.

The next step is for a state-appointed mediator to twy to bring the two parties to an agreement.

The district has offered a 2.5 percent pay increase, while the teachers' union is asking for 4.5 percent, The Alamedan reports.
