South Shore Safeway Protest Draws Noise Complaints

Several readers asked about noise coming from the South Shore area.

A demonstration at the Safeway supermarket at South Shore Center today drew questions from some Alameda Patch readers who could hear the noise from their homes.

One reader described the noise as "a loud rally going on, with beating of drums and a loudspeaker/megaphone."

The shopping center's management office confirmed that the noise is coming from a protest rally at Safeway.
