Upcoming Crown Beach Closure for Sand-Moving Project

Crews will move accumulated sand and spread it along the beach from April 2 through 5. Folks are asked to stay off the beach while scrapers and bulldozers are working.

From April 2 to 5, portions of Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda will be closed as part of the annual sand-moving project.

East Bay Regional Park District officials said in a recent announcement that from Park Street northeast to the bathhouse, the public beach will be closed to the public while the work is going on.

Work crews will move accumulated sand and spread it along the beach.

For safety purposes, EBRPD asks that people stay off the beach while scrapers and bulldozers are working.

The beach at Crab Cove will not be affected and will remain open.
