Artist Strolling Cocktail Hour
West Alameda Arts and Entertainment District
Featured Artist for April, Marcy Voyevod
The West End of Alameda has come to see new life in recent years. With the opening of several new restaurants and lounges, the days and evenings have offered more options for great food, drinks and entertainment.
This new vitalization of Webster Street has surfaced many talented and accomplished neighborhood visual and performing artists.
A friendly, supportive, diverse and artistic culture has engendered from the new local gathering spots and inspired some of the Webster Street business owners to plant the seeds of a great vision for Alameda’s West end.
The name, “West Alameda Arts and Entertainment District” has been coined by our local artists and venue owners in hopes of cultivating a strong art district on Webster Street and throughout our islands West End.
In a collaborative effort, the local artists will share their collections and performances in participating venues on Webster Street. These events will host Art exhibits with openings to be known as the“Artist Strolling Cocktail Hour” at designated times so that art lovers may meet the artist and enjoy cocktails and dinner whilst viewing the exhibit. Art on display will remain at the participating venues for approximately 30 days.
We are delighted to announce the launching of our Monthly Artists Series this month of April, 2014 by featuring local Artist, Marcy Voyevod and her collection entitled UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF CATALUNYA.
An opening event will take place on Friday, April 18th and you will be able to meet Marcy at Chicha Bistro beginning at 6pm and again at the Fireside Lounge from 7pm.
