Celebrate World Book Night at the Alameda Free Library

The Alameda Free Library will be celebrating World
Book Night 2014 on Tuesday, April 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Regina K.
Stafford Meeting Room at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St.

The library is proud to be one of the 23
sites chosen from across the county to kick off this year’s event with games,
trivia, and a special reading of Katherine Paterson’s book Bridge to Terabithia by local author and storyteller Walter Mayes.
Mayes will be joined by local celebrities including Mayor Marie Gillmore and
Vice Mayor Marilyn Ezzy-Ashcraft. This free event is open to the public and is
sponsored by the Friends of the Alameda Free Library.

World Book Night U.S. is an ambitious campaign to give
thousands of free, specially-printed paperbacks to light or non-readers.
Volunteer book givers help promote reading by going into our communities and handing
out free copies to those without means or access to a printed book. For more information, including FAQs and links to this year's book titles, please visit www.us.worldbooknight.org
