Community Corner

Free reading by local authors at Alameda Library

Alameda residents Allen Sweet, C. Frances (Fran) Sweet, and Fritz Jaensch will read excerpts from their highly regarded book "The Unity of Truth" in a free reading at the Alameda Public Library on Wednesday, October 23, at 5:30 pm.

The event, part of the Library's Author Talk series, will take place in the Regina K. Stafford Community meeting room at the main branch of the Library, located at 1550 Oak Street in Alameda.

The book, currently in its second printing, examines the age-old conflict between science and religion.  The authors contend that the teachings of science and religion actually support and reinforce each other.
