Myla's Journey to Find a Matching Donor

We are looking for donors who are between 18 to 44 years old. You can register at a drive www.aadp.org/drive or request a home test kit at www.aadp.org/homekit (requesting a kit will delay the process, if you can attend a drive in person, we highly encourage you to register at a drive)

If you're not in the age range, you can also help with setting up a donor drive, volunteering at our upcoming drives, or make a contribution at www.aadp.org/give.

"Myla is a beautiful 10 year old girl who is a resident of Alameda, CA. She is very active in helping out in school, church, community, and even at home. She's not your typical little girl. She's always looking out for those around her, making sure everyone is okay. She likes to volunteer to be a teacher's aide every opportunity she gets to and helps out in watching younger students during her recess periods. She is also a member of the choir in the children's worship service of the Church of Christ in Alameda Congregation.

Last March of this year, Myla was diagnosed with Myeloid Sarcoma.

(A myeloid sarcoma (chloroma, granulocytic sarcoma, extramedullary myeloid tumor), is a solid tumor composed of immature white blood cells[2] called myeloblasts. A chloroma is an extramedullary manifestation of acute myeloid leukemia; in other words, it is a solid collection of leukemic cells occurring outside of the bone marrow.)

Because of this, she is no longer able to do many of the things she loves to do, but she is always in a high spirit with a very positive outlook. She's always the one to say that she's okay. She wants to get better already so that no one will have to worry for her anymore. She is getting many material gifts, but she says she appreciates prayers the most."
