Shoe Drive to Benefit the Christopher LaVell Jones Foundation

USAgain, a local textile recycling company has joined forces with the Christopher LaVell Jones foundation, a well known, Oakland based organization that provides community and advocacy services to the families of murder victims in the area in an effort to raise funds for the Chris Jones memorial scholarship fund and camp activities.

The drive will be accepting all kinds of dry and clean shoes. Organizers are requesting community to bring shoes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Seventh Ave Baptist Church, 1740 7th Ave Oakland, CA 94606.

“The Christopher LaVell Jones is delighted to partner with USAgain to help save the environment and provide additional resources to our community” said Brenda Grisham, Executive Director of the Christopher LaVell Jones Foundation.

Participants will also be able to enter a FREE raffle for a chance to win one of six $50 gift cards.

“This event will raise funds that directly benefit Christopher Jones Foundation and be used to provide college sponsorships and summer camp activities. The additional advantage of diverting shoes from the waste stream makes this a win-win for everyone,” said Tobin Costen, Division Manager, USAgain.
