Alameda Kiwanis Annual Chili Cookoff!

Kiwanis of Alameda’s legendary 13thAnnual CHILI COOK-OFF & BBQ Dinner will be held on Saturday, January 28th at the O Club, 641 West Redline Ave. at Alameda Point.  The event will run from 5:30 pm until 10:00 p.m..  Professional chefs, as well as the 200+ attendees, will taste-test all of the 10 chili teams’ entries to judge which the BEST are. Last year’s first place winners were Alameda Rotary and the Alameda Education Foundation.

But there’s more……

Returning to serve our guests will be caterer, Back Forty Texas BBQ who will be serving up a "help yourself-all you can eat” delicious BBQ dinner. Back 40 Texas BBQ took first place at the prestigious 2011 rib cook-off in Sparks, Nevada http://www.nuggetribcookoff.com/About-The-Event/Prizes.asp . A healthy vegetarian option will also be available.  Our popular silent auction will entice every one of our attendees. A super raffle, no-host bar providing award winning Margaritas and Mohitos donated by Alameda’s finest Mexican Restaurant, La Penca Azul, will be served, a bit of line dancing, entertainment and a couple of extra surprises will create a rousing fun evening.  This year we are repeating the MASSIVE success of Auctioning off TWO I-Pad2’s!!

****Kiwanis’ annual hoe down has become a standout! Our entire community anticipates this wild and fun event which is our MAJOR fundraiser for the year, with 100% of the proceeds going to support Kiwanis of Alameda Foundation’s annual fund giving to local non-profit organizations.  Last year over $19,000 was raised to support our youth.****
