Map: Certified Green Businesses in Alameda

Twenty-five Alameda businesses and public agencies have been certified as green businesses. Which ones do you often go to?

When it comes time selecting a dentist or doing your dry cleaning, does it matter if that businesses is a certified green business?

Alameda Patch has compiled a map of local retailers, merchants and services that have been certified by the Bay Area Green Business Program.

Piloted by the Alameda County Environmental Health Department, the program is now Bay Area wide.

The Bay Area Green Business Program verifies that businesses meet higher standards of environmental performance, according to its website. Twenty-five Alameda businesses and public agencies—which also include some neighboring agencies that heavily serve the Alameda community—have been certified as green businesses.

The list has been provided by the Alameda County Data Sharing Initiative.
