Artemis Making its Mark

Prada Lossing Ground

Big Blue returned again today to the race course area of the Louis Vuitton Cup. While Prada Luna Rossa was running another one boat race Prada asked for a Black flag run . Artemis was scheduled to race in the Round robin today .

As they learned their new boat just launched yesterday, Artemis hovered around the north bay as to say we are back and we are going to race .

No one expects them to be competitive but after foiling on their first day out and again today the tide they are a changin.

Prada Luna Rossa has been a very aggravated challenger in this round robins of the Louis Vuitton Cup ,and did a no show on the opening day .
Emirates did not file for a black flag against them . And has been sailing the full required race courses.

Prada Luna Rossa had protested a rudder rule in the new 37 recommendations that came as a result of the crash, Artemis had with their boat one during testing .
Seeking to improve safety Iain Murray and expert panelist recommended safer stabile rudders.

Prada waited till three days before event was to start to protest the rule even knowing they would not sail in protest . Some see it more like Prada against Louis Vuitton a fashion war than sailing decision. Prada had sailed in defiance of a group decision to not sail for one week after the loss of Andrew Bart Simpson of Artemis Racing .  Instead they left the meeting and sailed the very same day . Prada was not the most popular team that week .

They continue to try and overshadow the event ever chance they get . It has now become very evident their decision to build one boat has come back to haunt them . Getting beaten by Emirates Team New Zealand in every match so far and their last outing beaten by seven minutes.  Its not looking good for them .

Thats why trying to get Artemis eliminated before they even sailed ensured they a least had more sailing time in the semi finals that start in August, these are a elimination series .

Artemis has a world class amount of talent on board and these early runs they have shown they can and probably will beat Luna Rossa , whose team even thou has had more days practicing don't seem to be in sync. The team have had already too many unforced errors on their own .

Its really now only left to practice the course Emirates Team New Zealand have won the round robins already . They will by all means need to embrace this time they have left .

Meanwhile the Big Blue Boat looms in shadows of Luna Rossa and you can bet they haven't forgotten the earlier accusations against them nor the disrespect .
Artemis will be gunning for Italian entry . Artemis hopes to be on the line August sixth for the first round of semi finals .

Update:
While writing news flash Prada broke there foiling system today a huge part of safety on these boats. J Navis caught the whole thing on video watch it here . http://acworldseries.blogspot.com/2013/07/louis-vuitton-cup-round-robin-4-2-luna.html
