Champagne Auction to Benefit Alameda Cats

Island Cat Resource and Adoption's event May 5 will raise needed funds.

Island Cat Resource and Adoption's (ICRA) 18th Annual Champagne Silent Auction will be held May 5 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Alameda Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue and it couldn't come soon enough.

An email alert sent to the orgnization's supporters this week says the all-volunteer group may be forced to cut back on its much needed spay/neuter program unless it raises significant funds by this summer. In addition to inviting people to the upcoming auction, ICRA is asking for immediate donations, which can be made here.

The auction itself will include vegetarian appetizers, desserts, drinks and champagne.

The suggested donation for the event at the door is $30 or $20 with a new bag of cat food. All proceeds from the event will go to community cats in need. Those attending are being encouraged to bring friends with them.
