How Will You Celebrate Valentine's Day?

Cuddle up at home? A night out on a town? Nose to the grindstone?

I have never been a big fan of holidays. It is quite possibly a genetic trait. My father rejected almost all ritualized traditions as overly formal.

That said, when my children were born, first one and then the other (as is usually, though not always, the case), I felt their birthdays were a big deal. A year of life as a human! Especially a young one! That's something to celebrate.

But Valentine's Day? Not so sure. I'm more of a love-well, be-kind-all-day-every-day person than a big hearts and chocolate gal.

But I do like a nice dinner. And I do like good wine. And I do like breakfast in bed. And I do like time together, a pause from the pace of our lives.

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day? What do you have in the works for this year?
