Local Business Owner Plays Santa Donating Toys

Janine Boehm, a Harbor Bay resident and business owner, couldn't resist helping Alameda children in need

Janine Boehm, owner of Boehm and Associates in Alameda, is a year-round giver donating generously to charities in town such as the and adopting three public school classrooms.

This week she felt the urge to help her community again, showering the  South Shore branch with toys galore for the local drive. You can see a photo of some of the toys she donated in the accompanying photo.

When she learned today that the Alameda Toys for Tots organizers are in desperate need of still more toys she vowed to head back out to the stores and make a second donation and bring the toys to a fire station or some other collection site.

The same tree under which Boehm's gifts sits also serves as what the bank is calling its "giving tree." For a donation of $3 bank customers and visitors can add a light to the tree. All money collected will be donated to the . Last year the bank raised $600 for the food bank from its giving tree project.
