Gala to Benefit Alameda's Homeless Animals on Oct. 18

Help Alameda's animals! Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter presents “After The Ball” to raise needed funds for the homeless animals at the Alameda Animal Shelter.

Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) is hosting the second annual "After The Ball" to raise needed funds for the homeless animals in Alameda. This year, an anonymous donor has pledged to match $50,000 for all donations, ticket sales, and auction proceeds raised at the event. This doubles the impact FAAS can have on sheltering and caring for our city's animals.

Auction items include a tour of the bay on a private plane, a five-day stay in a beautiful Lake Tahoe home, a diamond (!), your chance to make and name your own ice cream, two round-trip tickets to anywhere Southwest flies, and a two-hour private tour and wine tasting with Rock Wall's Shauna Rosenblum.  There are too many more items to mention!

FAAS thanks the sponsors for the event: Rock Wall Wine Company, Kent and Kathy Rosenblum, Catellus, US Bank, Jiva Creative, Park Centre Animal Hospital, Providence Veterinary Hospital, Alameda Pet Hospital, Gail Soares-Artikasian E.A., Mike and LeeAnne Baker/Level Construction Supply LLC., Roger Duke Farmer's Insurance, Alameda Funeral and Cremation Service, Bank of Alameda, Urban Island Home Furnishings, Harbor Bay Realty/Sterling Mortgage, Excel Graphics, Bay Area News Group, Tucker's Ice Cream, and Photos by Tonya Perme Photography.

After The Ball will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Rock Wall Wine Company, 2301 Monarch St. (Alameda Point).  Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at www.aftertheball.org or by calling 510-337-8575.  Checks can also be mailed to FAAS, 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda CA  94501.
